I hate the turn downs, especially at car shows where we park on the grass. Example, the GoodGuys show at West World in Scottsdale.......They blow up all the dirt on everyones cars.
funny that you say that. I met up with SSClone and his wife yesterday at the Easter Bunny Show in Orlando.
He pointed out a 40 coupe, side pipes, low to the ground.....and noted when the guy started the car looked like a high performance LEAF BLOWER. Sure enough...later in the day he cranked it up........man the dirt leaves flying everywhere. I came up with some observations:
A)...never paid attention to that before
B) ...bet owners never consider it till someone points it out

I tried the look of both on my 67 and went with the turndowns. My wife liked the straight out the back look but it kind of reminds me of a newer Mustang, or a bus.

I only use exhaust all the way out the back. Anything less and you get exhaust in the car while your sitting in traffic. I used to run turn downs on some of my cars and people always complained about smelling like exhaust when they got out of the cars. And they were right.
