I would like to start looking for a posi rear end option for my 66'. I'm trying to figure out what my options are. I keep finding posi rear ends on craigslist and other sources but i'm not sure which one will crossover to a 66'. Can anyone shed some light on which cars, and the years to watch for. I would like it to bolt right up and be the same width if possible.

'64 to '67 are the same width. '68 to '72 are 1 inch wider overall. The '67 has a different spring perch, but it will work in your '66. The '68 ti '71 will also work, but will move the wheels out 1/2 inch on both sides. Only A body rear ends will work (Chevelle, Cutlass, Skylark, Le Mans GTO, Monte Carlo, El Camino) from '64 to '72.
