I bought a stainless brake line set and distribution block from The Right Stuff detailing and I am only asking the question here because it's Saturday afternoon and they are closed.

I measured the rear port in the new and old blocks and it appears the port in the new dist block for the rear line is about a 1/16" too small. The new brake line will thread into the old dist block but not the new one.

Has anybody else had a problem with Right Stuff's (or anybody else's) distrubution block have wrong size ports/threads?

Thanks.

Thanks Jay. I debated on whether to reuse the old one or not but decided since the rest of the braking system was going to be new I would replace the dist. block too.

Are there any moving parts inside a dist. block? I know if there is a pressure difference between the front and back it sends a signal to turn the "brake" light on in the dash.

Thanks

I think you can tell from the picture that the port in the new dist. block is smaller.

I'll be calling The Right Stuff tomorow and I'll let you know what they say.

I called The Right Stuff (and emailed them some pics) and they agreed they sent me the wrong part. The '70 distribution block should have a 9/16" port for the rear brake line and the new block has a 1/2" port. They think it may be for a '69.

Thanks for everbody's help.

Now it's time to do some steering box research...

I guess these things can happen. At least they called me and admitted the mistake and shipped me the correct one the same day.

I just went round and round with OPGI on a similar deal where they had the wrong parts (outer tie rods) in the right box. They wanted me to pay the shipping back to them for the wrong parts before they would ship out the correct ones. Admittedly, the order was placed a few years ago and I am just getting around to working on the car but they could have paid shipping both ways.

OPGI has lost me as a customer.
