I have improved the steering & cornering of my 67 Chevelle from information I gained here. As I am driving through a tight turn I thought about side loads on my 10" 6.2 posi disc brake rear end with Currie street axles. I know a tapered bearing is best for side loads but my rear end has a roller axle bearing. I think all side loads on my rear are being carried by the C clip. Is this true? I don't autocross the car bit as a retired mechanic I think about details on my cars.
I have never seen a axle failure on a C clip rear from side load, just wondering out loud here. Your thoughts?
