I've been lurking on that site for a few years now. I would love nothing more then to have a track built on LI. E-town is too far away for me (no trailer). I have sent a few letters, and have signed the petitions, but I wouldn't put my money on getting it built. Too many "NIMBY" neighbors, which are far too many voters. Too bad the politicians don't realize the number of racers on LI that are also voters. :sad:

It's been a long time since I raced out in L.I. .... Back in the 60's I raced my SB '55 at the 1/8 mile Islip Speed Way, I know that track was closed But what happened to the 1/4 mile National Speed Way, when did that close? The last time I raced there was 1970.
