Has anyone mounted a radio underneath a bench seat? I bought a head unit that plays mp3's( my internal changer) and has a remote control. My car has a/c so the glove box is shallow to begin with. Under my original radio my guages are mounted so all that room under the dash is nearly gone. My only other options is to cut dash which Im trying to avoid. Anyone done this before?
thanks

I have a delco AM/FM (mono) in the dash for the stock look, but like to listen to quality sound from CD's in stereo. Like you I also have a bench seat car and ruled out glove box or under-dash options. So I bought an inexpensive plastic console/cup holder/storage box that sits on the seat. I then put the head unit in the box, rigged a wiring harness with a plug to provide power and lines to two speakers that just sit on the back seat. I did't hook up an antenna since I use it for tapes/CD. The whole set up removed for shows and hooked up for driving. No cutting dashes or anything. However, when driving it does look tacky because wires run along the floor, but it sounds fine.
