Radio reception

Probably not the right forum but.... I installed a Custom Auto Sound AM/FM radio in my 67 velle. The reception seems to suck. I have a rear mount adjustable height antenna. Should the antenna be set at a certain (fixed) height for reception, could the 10' lenght of coax be long? Maybe buy a current (Pioneer, Sony, etc..) high reception radio and install it in the glove box.

Make sure the antennae is plugged in securely at both ends. If it is, Radio Shack sells an FM booster that amplifies the signal sent to your radio for a clearer signal. Or you can wire in a new CD player, maybe hide it if you want to retain the factory look.
