So I'm not really sure when this started happening as the car hasn't been drivable for a while, but I do remember it being the case last time I did drive it. I do not remember changing anything in the wiring to cause it. Anyway, the issue at hand is that my radio (and I think my wipers, will double check that) sometimes doesn't work unless I either have the door open or turn the knob to switch my interior lights on. My radio is plugged straight into the acc position on the fuse panel on the firewall. Has anyone had a similar issue? Bad ground perhaps?
I really need to get this whole car rewired but time and $ are better spent elsewhere for now.

It sounds like a ground problem because you interior lights are hot all the time and work on a ground. Maybe someone hooked your radio ground to the white wire of the interior lights.
