Last night I had a new Kenwood stereo installed in the 64 El Camino. Sounded great on the way home at all speeds. However this morning it cuts out at around 2000 rpm. It doesn't turn off, the sound just quits. Somebody said try putting a resistor in the power line...should I or should I take it back and have them trouble shoot it?
The shop wired it from the fuse box..a real nice install.

My opinion.
You just bought it and paid for an installation. I wouldn't touch anything and perhaps void the warranty. Take it back. Don't put a resistor in the power line. It won't fix the problem.
