I need to buy a radiator, fan and fan clutch for my 68SS convert. 396/350Hp/M21. I was looking on E-bay and found a re-make Harrison radiator for about $700. It has the Harrison logo,etc. Should my car have a 4 core? Has anybody purchased one of these and are they worth the $$$? Also, if my research is correct I need a 7 blade clutch fan, is that correct? If so, I'm looking for recommendations on where to buy an aftermarket setup until I can find an original. Thanks!

If your not going for 100 point resto car show situation get a 4 row hd cooling rad from ground up for you bbc chevelle.
I have installed 3-4 of those rads in 70 chevelle over past few yrs with bbc abd couple with ac too all with good cooling results when do my rec upgrades that collectively together turbocharge the cooling system for great cooling along with a hd cooling 4 row rad from ground up or an alumitech or dewitts perf al rad you will not have to worry about your bbc running hot in hot summer 90+ deg temps. ( But be forwarned you must do everything i rec and use same parts from same mfgsa i rec or you will not get as good a result!) (And no i dont own any stock in any of mfgs i rec !!/LOL!!!)
* USE STOCK SHROUD AND 7 BLADE CLUTCH FAN FOR YOUR APP WITH AC & CLUTCH FAN SETUP.
MUST RUN STOCK FOR 68 BBC SHORT WATER PUMP TO HAVE STOCK FAN & SHROUD FIT & WORK PROPERLY.
* USE STOCK CRANK & W-PUMP PULLEYS TO ENSURE W-PUMP IS DRIVEN AT STOCK/SPEC SPEED FOR PROPER COOLING.
* USE A QUALITY HAYDEN THERMAL FAN CLUTCH (HD prefered for max cooling but std duty thermal hayden fan clutch is acceptable)
I USE A HAYDEN 2747 HD THERMAL FAN CLUTCH FOR 69-72 SB/BBC CHEVELLE APPS THAT USE A LONG W-PUMP ,SOME GUYS CALIM THE GET AWAY WITH THAT CLUTCH ON 68 & OLDER APPS WITH SHORT PUMP BUT I HAVE NEVER PERSONALLY TIED TO SEE FITMENT ESP FAN BLADE DEPTH IN SHROUD ETC ,THATS ALL I CAN TELL YOU MON THAT OTHER THEN USE A HAYDEN THERMAL FAN CLUTCH NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO. AVAIL AT GOOD PRICE FROM SUMMIT & ROCK AUTO.
BTW,Dont use cross reffed thermal fan clutches from overseas like you get from for ex autozone/advanced auto etc,they may be a bit cheaper but dont work/cool as well as the hayden thermal fan clutches do,you get what you pay for!
* SEAL ARIGAP BETWEEN RADAITOR CORE AND SHROUD WITH ADHEASIVE BACKED FOAM INSULATION USED FOR HEATING AND COOLING APPS AVAIL FROM LOWERS/ACE HW ETC.
DOING THAT ENSURES ALL AIR MOVED BY FAN IS SUCKED THRU RAD CORE FOT MAX COOLING VS AIR SUCKED THRU GAP BETWEEN RAD CORE AND SHROUD THAT DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR COOLING OTHER THEN REDUCE COOLIG EFFICIENCY.
* USE AUTOZONES HI FLOW 15356/160 PERF STAT & DRILL BY PASS HOLE IN IT .
I FOUND THIS STAT OUTPERORMS(CONSISTANTLY KEEPING STABILIED ENGINE TEMP LOWER IN 180 deg + - FEW DEG RANGE THEN WITH OTHER STATS OF SAME TEMP RANGE) WHEN I TESTED IT AGAINST MILODON, MRGASKET TYPE HI FLOW STATS AND STD FLOW TYPE STATS OF SAME TEMP RANGE FROM STANT OR FAILSFAE TYPE STAT TOO,THATS WHY I REC THE 15356 /160 FOR WARMET TEMPS.
BUT IF YOUR GOING TO DRIVE CAR OFTEN IN COLDER OFF SEASON TEMPO I REC AUAOTONES 15358/180 DEH HI FLOW PERF STAT ,BUT GO BACK TO THE 1536/160 STAT FOR MAX COOLING IN SUMMER TEMP.
* USE 30% ANTI FRZ/70% DISTILLED WATER COOLANT MIX FOR BETTER HEAT TRANSFER VS STD 50/50 COOLANT MIX.
* IF RUNNING A NON STOCK NON GM AFTERMARKET CAM ENSURE YOUR RUNNING APROX 18 DEG BASE TIMING BECAUSE IF LESS THATS GETTING INTO RETARTDED BASE TIMING TERRITORY AND RETARTDED BASE TIMING INCREASES ENGINE TEMP ESP AT IDLE AND WHEN AT LOWER ENGINE SPEED BEFORE MECH ADV IN DIST IS FULLY ACTIVATED FOR TOTAL TIMING TO BE FULLY IN.
* NOT A MUST BUT GREAT UPGRADE IF YOU DONT HAVE W-PUMP YET OR NEED TO INSTALL A PROPER SHORT PUMP IS TO USE A HI FLOW PUMP FROM FLOWCOOLER ETC THATS A STOCK REP FOR YOUR CAR.
But if you want the Harison log i have read good feedback from guys running the repop Harison logo 4 row hd cooling rads and a hd cooling 4 row rad is what i rec for best cooling a bbc chevelle along with doing all the other items stated above that will do street duty in hotter summer temps.
