has anyone ever but a rack on a chevelle? i was thinking about installing one on my 1970 chevelle but not sure if its worth it or not. any information anyone has would help before i spent alot of cash.
Most create serious bumpsteer problems... the only kit I'm aware of that doesn't costs around $2700 The only real benefit a rack has is weight, but you'll lose that advantage when you build the bracketry to install it.
You'll be much happier rebuilding your stock steering setup and swapping in a good fast-ratio box instead.
Interesting information in the April issue of Car Craft, has a supplement dealing with performance suspension and handling. Even though there are more moving parts on your standard steering, it is much stronger than the rack set up.
thanks i guess that means i get to spend more money into my motor wife should be happy about that just wont tell her shell find out after the credit card bill comes in the mail so ill have a month of good times........
