I have removed all the decals and they came off nicely without pulling off the paint or anything.

Think it might have been waxed before the decals were applied.

Anyway there is a certain amount of decal adhesive remaining on the finish.

Can anyone recommend proper procedure and product to remove decal adhesive residue.

There is an adhesive removal that comes in a spray can called Sticker Shock that works great. I have also used PPG wax and grease remover, but it takes longer. Goof Off works well, but may damage the paint.

3M makes a nice adhesive remover. Try the local paint shop.

There is a ball you put on a drill at the parts store, i forgot the name. People use them when they pull the badging of new trucks. My friend debadged his Dodge Truck and you can not see any marks.
