i just bought a 72 chevelle with a 307 in it. i was wondering what tranny and rear end these things came with? i assume its a th350 but im not sure on the rear. thanks

next time you go out to the car look at the rear and count the bolts if there are 12 then it a 12 bolt it probably an 8.2 inch 10 bolt and you can tell by the width of the cover is 11" but if you look at the bolt pattern you can match a gasket to it from the summit catalogue ant that should tell you…

The tranny is most likely a TH 350, and the rear is very likely an 8.2 10 bolt. I don't think the Powerglide was offered in 72. If it's a three speed, it's a Turbo 350 unless someone changed it.

thanks for the info, but what i ment to say was what gears were in the rear end?

More than likely 3.08's or 2.73's....unless, as stated above, someone has changed them. But you won't know until you either do the math or pop the cover off
