Assuming I get to go ahead with a 522 build, what's the biggest carb available with a choke? I have to have something for cold weather to make it bearable but can swap to a 950hp or so for most of the year when cold starts aren't an issue.

That's about what I thought. I guess I need to start trying to round up a 502 crate carb. That would probably be my best bet as far as driveability and should take it close to 5500 which I'm sure is more than it will ever see on the street. I'm sure I can borrow a Dominator if I ever decide to run it down the 1/4, but I can't see much of that with this going into a 1-ton dually driver. Yeah, I've lost it, but you only live once.

The 870 Avenger or the ZZ502 carb would be great, the electric chokes are nice to have. The 870 has the quick-change secondary housing on already and a shiny finish, so I'd go with that.

I always forget about the new x70 line.
The VS will probably work better in the dually.
The 950 did come in a VS form.
Have to look for one. I found one on here that a 502 owner wanted to get rid of.
But no choke of course.
There is an 850VS also. Came on vettes stock.
I forget the list #.
