when waxing the car must be operating room clean as the swirls are caused by fine dust or the dirt in a film on the car not easily removed. The fastest wat to remove them is with a buffer. USe a cleaner first and then switch the pad and use a polish and then switch the pad and use a high quality wax.

You can do the same by hand, Buy a minimum of a dozen white cotton covered foam pads and turn them over as soon as the slightest sign of dirt. You will proably go through at least 6 to 10 with the cleaner, another 4 to six with the polish and 2 to four with the wax. I usually do my car by hand and I wast the pads and use them again for the cleaner and polish. Only new ones for the wax.

what i would recommend from experience is to buff the car with a rubbing compound then a glazing compound. Then by hand and rub on Meguirs scratch X. Make sure when you rub on the scratch X with an applicator pad and rub off with a microfiber towel. Oh when you buff the car try to use a variable speed buffer. Those steps has worked for me on a black porshe i painted for a client. So it should work for you. When you wash your car in the future after you do my steps make sure you dry the car with microfiber towels because regular towels are to coarse and scratch the paint which causes swirls. Good luck

An orbital buffer with a foam pads for the machine polishing step is a good idea.
3M makes a swirl mark remover in their 3000 series, I have some bottles on the shelf but haven't used it yet. I have to use up the old stuff I have before I try the new.
