Team,
I know that when you go from a TH350 to a 700R4 the mounting points will move back 3 inchs. I looked at my frame rail where the crossmember is currently bolted up. It has holes drilled all down the rail (from the factory I hope). I was hopeing on of these was magically 3 inchs back. This is not the case. I would simply drill a set three inchs back from the original, but that frame is going to look like swiss cheese. How have you guys handeled this without buying a new crossmember?

Went from a 400 to a 700 r4, I cut the mount off and moved the brace back to the correct location, 1 hole on each side lined up for me then I just drilled the other two holes to match the cross member, after much measuring, and clearence checking, I cut a 3" piece of 5" angle iron, drilled holes in it to match the tranny mount, and bolted it on. With everything in place I marked the location where the angle iron to the brace lined up. Took it all out and welded it up. Never had a problem with it....

I slid mine back on the 67. It almost lined up with some of the holes, like within a 1/4 inch. I hogged 'em out with a drill but and dropped in the bolts.
