I have a 1964 Chevelle I'm doing a resto on it. I bought all new parts including a 7/8 drag link. The idler arm however does not have a big enough hole to slip of over the connector on the drag link. According to my local shop I should send the drag link back and get a 13/16 drag link. Apparently the idler arm I got from Moog does not fit 7/8 and they don't make one that does. Does this sound right? Sounded kind of fishy considering that 7/8 was standard i think from 65-72. Does anyone know the true difference between the 7/8 and 13/16 drag link? Is it merely the diameter or are the connectors and holes different sizes as well?

Better yet does anyone know where I can get the idler arm and mount for my 7/8 drag link? According to my shop I have to get it from a hard to find parts dealer and the cost is $122. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Looking thru my old Year One catalogue, they list 2 different center links for 64, one 7/8 and one 13/16. They list idler arms for both applications. The one for the 7/8 center link is part #IA305 and lists for $49.95. Year One has all of the parts for the front suspension (as do many other suppliers like Ground Up) and their older catalogue is a good source of info and pix. The one I use for reference is a 2000 edition, and I keep it as a reference for many things.
