up until recently Goodmark sold 2 different full quarters for these cars one was stamped on GM die in the US fit very nice. they sold for around $600.00 each. the other is called (OE STYLE) new tooling which is stamped in Taiwan on new dies sell for around $480.00 to $500 each i have not installed any of these. the ones on the GM dies are no longer being stamped. my understanding is Goodmark chose not to pay GM their licencing fee anymore. not everybody has the ones stamped on GM dies.the supply is running out. i have installed at least 10 of these in the last few years (the ones stamped on GM dies) & they fit perfect. i have 3 sets of the ones stamped on GM dies for sale.

I would recommend calling these folks. www.classicpartstore.com They have the quarters that were made with the GM tooling (they bought all of Goodmark's remaining stock when they got into their licensing disagreement). Their prices seem to be about the best that I've found. I just bought a pair of quarters for my convertible from them last month.

Got a question concerning the two types of Goodmark full quarters. I purchased a set from OPG approx 6 years ago (still not installed) and remember paying around $600 each, I'm pretty sure they were GM stampings otherwise I would'nt of purchased them but how am I to know they are the 'good' ones? When approx did the switch take place? What do you find is the difference, guage metal, FIT, body lines not so crisp?
Thanks, Kevin.

Menace it's tough to say what your panels are. if i remember right it was 6 or 7 years ago when they started stamping the ones on GM dies. i doubt they are NOS because 6 years ago NOS quarters for 70-72 were very high priced. i have not seen the ones stamped on taiwan dies. something interesting i saw on classicparts store.com they show the full quarter for 70-72 chevelle as part #4033-601-701L 4033-601-701R if you look in the goodmark catalog that is the # for the ones stamped on new tooling even though classic parts says they are stamped on GM dies. the quarters i have are part #4033-601-70L and 4033-601-70R which if you look in a goodmark catalog that still shows the two styles states these are the ones stamped on GM dies. and they are in a box that shows the GM Restoration Parts logo. i may be wrong but i think the ones stamped on GM dies are going to be very hard to come buy in the near future since they haven't stamped them in almost a year supplies are running out & all thats left are the new tooling taiwan panels. also goodmark was selling the GM tooled quarters for 600.00 each & the taiwan ones for 480.00 i can't see why someone would be selling the GM tooled quarters 200.00 cheaper now than goodmark did when they had them especially since they aren't made anymore.

Brucebodyman, I actually found my receipt, dated 4-11-00 OPG #KM02006/5 R/L boxes also says Goodmark GM restoration parts, and I found a tag on one of the boxes that says goodmark #9815404 R/H 11-19-99. It seems I have the good ones but All the different part# is confusing, maybe old# or something. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. Thanks.
Quarters seem a little too cheap @ www.classicpartstore.com, what gives?

menace sounds like you got the good ones. sometimes these go through a couple of vendors before they get to the end user & each vendor gives it their part #. i have an e-mail in to classicparts about the quarters. i think the ones they have are the taiwan ones thats what the part # indicates. you will be happy with the fit on the quarters you have provided the installer is competent.
