Have to replace my non a/c core in a 67. I see some appear to be aluminum. Any word on who makes a good quality replacement?

I dont think they last as long as the brass. I put a new aluminum in my 64 Pontiac and it leaked in a year or so. I took it to the local radiator shop and he said it was junk and to get the brass unit that came with the car..

The aluminum one I put in leaked... they are also easy to bend/break

My aluminum Spectra is doing fine for two years. My evaporator, condenser and radiator are aluminum.

My alu heater core is 10 years, was smaller and not a good fit. Didnt thought it would last as long as it have. Heartbeatcity has oem brass replacements.

Whichever brass one you buy, take the extra time to go to a rad shop and have it tested and oversoldered to pre-empt future leaks. Well worth it in today's rush to build and sell world.

I bought one from summit thought it was brass picture and desctription said that and got a alu?
But this look like the real deal?

Yep, call to make sure you're getting a brass unit, which I gave up on and used an old core but tested first. I like the idea of flooding the solder by a rad shop.
