Quadrajet Tuning

I was tuning my Quadrajet.....ran the idle mixture screws all the way in and started backing them out a quarter turn at a time on each side I got the highest vacuum reading at only one turn out, does that make sense? One turn out meaning a full 360 revolution of the screw.

Tom,

Thanks for the reply. Actually the carb is a 71, I think. Seems to me that only one turn out would be a little lean. If I get beyond the one turn, the vac drops and the engine starts to run a little rough. Same thing if I go back in with the idle mixture screws.
I agree with you, I would think certainly more than one complete turn. I assume that it's ok as long as it's running good?
