AutoZone shows part number 387A for a 71 350 4 bbl Malibu and part number 387A for a 69 350 4 bbl Malibu. I have heard the 69 model of the Q-Jet was the one to get, but now I am concerned what are the differences.
they are probably the same carb, with different metering rods.
maybe one's a "california" setup, and the other one's a "49 state" setup.
or one's for an auto, the other is for a stick.
Rick,
The "Zone" part numbers dont mean much. A lot of the rebuilt Q-jets are not correctly jetted anyway as they are done to fit many different models. What you need to do is find out the original GM number you are looking for and go from there. Or have someone build you one for your application.
