My q-jet is flooding and I can't see the problem. It started this morning and went away but started up again on my way home. The float is not gas soaked and the needle and seat seem fine. I pulled the top off twice and did not find any trash. It is a stock 305 with a 1978 carb. Am I over looking something? I will be able to go deeper into the carb tomorrow.

Replace the float if it's made of that bakelight (sp) material. We replaced a bunch of them back when that carb was new.

Thanks for the response. I found no problem today, put the carb back together and it runs fine. This kind of stuff keeps it interesting.
