I noticed Jegs sells a new exaust system by Pypes complete with mufflers for my 70, anyone know how the mufflers sound? I prefer the sound of the dynomax super turbos so if anyone can let me know if the pypes brand is similar it would be a great help. Thanks!

Here is my input FWIW. I got the Pypes 2.5" X system for the Charger with the Race Flo mufflers. The mufflers don't give the distinct Mopar sound I was expecting them too. Don't get me wrong here, they don't sound bad by any means, just not what I was expecting. I know alot of Mopar guys that run the Super Turbos and they give their repsective cars the "Mopar" sound.

I have a Pypes X-Pipe system with Race-Pro mufflers on our 69 Malibu with a 461 big block.

The guys from Pypes took a sound byte at the Woodward Dream Cruise last year. It was dark but if you look at the tail lights you can see it's a 69 Chevelle.

Click on this link; http://www.pypesexhaust.com/sounds-gm-abody.html

In the middle of the screen select this; 69 Chevelle w/ X - out

Enjoy.

I'm looking for the quietest, best performance, best fitting, and most reasonably priced system.

2-1/2" will be fine for a 327, looking at the magnaflow and the pypes street-pro systems. I prefer the sound of a dynomax muffler so if either of these two brands sound close to it please let me know. I'm not looking for (loud) even under full throttle. This ride is for mostly cruising, thanks for the suggestions and imput.

Ordered my complete Pypes 2-1/2" exhaust for the maliblue, hope it isn't going to be too loud. Can't wait to get it installed and put some miles on the new 327.

:beers:

the current version of the Pypes Race Pros are actually no louder than the Pypes Street Pros. If you've ever heard Goerlich Xlerator's that is what the race pros are a close copy of, pretty mild for a straight thru muffler and only sound aggressive when you are standing on it. They flow close to the same as a staight pipe but are suprisingly mellow with very little resonation.

X2!!

My 3" Xpipe setup from Pypes tamed down the new 496. I used the 18" Race Pros to help with that, along with tailpipes. I will be duplicating the setup on my truck.
