Anyone installed the 3" exhaust kit from Pypes on a 67?

I have the one with the Xchange: http://pypesexhaust.com/xchange.html

The kit appears to be a universal install for 64-72 chevelles.

The tailpipes are one complete units.

My kit came with 68-72 rear hangers.......upon calling and talking to them.........the 64-67 has a different rear hanger.

Here they are:

The hgh10 is for 68-72 and hgh11 is for 64-67.

The hgh13 is for all cars....at the muffler.

In talking to the tech at Pypes.......really helpful BTW.

He informed me there is a kit that allows you to cut the one - piece tailpype and either weld or clamp a quarter panel exit for 64-67 chevelle. You just have to purchase it seperately.

Here is a pic of the tailpipe that come for the A bodies:

Anyone use the quarter exit pieces?

Any pics?

If you do have pics....Pypes is asking that someone send them a pic of the quarter exit extension......they state they have sold hundreds of them and are looking for some pics to put on their website.

No pic of the tailpipe.
I like the idea of the exchange system. Flowmaster makes a 3" 64-67 tailpipe also.

Just bought that Flowmaster tail kit yesterday. The '67 is heading for the muffler shop in the morning to install a Pypes X-over, a pair of Magnaflow 3 chamber mufflers, and those tails...a complete 3" system.

Bill

I got the JEGS universal X pipe and installed some Pypes Race pros and then used those 3" Flowmaster tails....did not come out right.

I think it was due to the JEGS universal x pipe being to wide.

Post some pics of the work once you get it done.

I recently bought and installed their 2 1/2" kit for my 66. Be prepared for some cutting and fab work. It seems like an ok system so far. A couple major complaints. First, collector extensions were way too short for my set-up. Luckily the guys at Pypes are pretty cool and he sent me a four foot piece of stainless for $20 that I then cut to length. The other major complaint is that the hangers absolutely suck. I had to fab my own to make it work and I'm not completely sure I even like that. If you have any questions during install, let me know and I can do my best to help. Unfortunately, it's not really a plug and play set-up.

I have looked at the hangers and have to agree.

Aron $438 for JEGS system or PYPES system?
Thats the Pypes.

The JEGS univeral only goes up to the muffler...its really cheap...right at $170 bucks..it has cuts as well..

The problem with the JEGS is after the x pipe.......the pipes goes to wide and its hard to get tailpipes and mufflers to fit.

I had to use a center/offset muffler.......still did not work.

Chevelles should only use offset/offset mufflers BTW.

The Flowmaster tailpipes fit the JEGS system.........very crappy......Hit the frame up around the shock mount and exited weird....

Probably due the fact the that the Flowmaster tailpipes probably are made to sit at a angle...you have to go their website and look how their 3 " intermediate pipe looks...it has some strange bends at the end of it....causing the muffler to sit at a angle.

Bill, let me know how those 3" tail pipes work out please. I have 3" to my muffs now but still using my 2 1/2" tail pipes with a reducer at the muffler exit. I was thinking of getting the flowmaster tail pipes
