My little brother accidentally put about a half a quart of oil in the tranny of a 98 oldsmobile. Will it be ok to just leave it alone? Or does it need a flush?

I'd definitely have it flushed, but I'm not an expert in automatic transmissions. I've just pulled mine out of the car way too many times to want to have to do it unnecessarily.

But I think these transmissions are pretty fussy about what you feed them.

If you have not run the car just drop the transmission pan to get the oil out.
Replace the pan with a new gasket and refill with transmission fluid. Omit the engine oil this time. :)
x2. The oil dumped in, would have gone right into the pan. As soon as you drop the pan or remove the drain plug if equipped, out it comes.
