Pulled valve covers to check the lash the other day. Everything looked good, maybe tweaked the lash 001-001.5 tighter. But I noticed that all of the pushrods were showing a little wear where they travel thru the guides. Not real bad but enough that I noticed. You can feel it but again didn't seem bad enough to be real concerned. In fact I've already put the covers back on, but got to second guessing myself and thought I would ask. Engine been in for 2 1/2 years, but only has maybe 600 miles and 15 passes on it. Edelbrock heads, Crane pushrods and Harland Sharpe rockers. Everything is new. Do you think I should take a closer look? Thanks for any advise.

Make sure they are the good heat treated push rods too. They really shouldnt be having a wear spot if they are treated right guys? I fould out the hard way...i didnt know any better and put regular pushrods in my motor. After about a week, the guide plates wore down till one of them caught and bent a pushrod.

Thanks guys, I'm sure the pushrod length is correct. And they are Crane treated rods. I puuled one cover back off just to take a second look. You can feel the line where the travel stops but with a micrometer I only see maybe .002 difference. The rods are still smooth and not gaulled at all. I'm gonna close it up and go racing. Got to see what this Proform center body is gonna do to the ET before the track closes for the year.
