I am restoring a 1965 Malibu SS. This is an off frame restoration. I have the body on a rotisserie and want to paint the bottom of the body before setting back on the frame. Should the underbody be painted the same as the exterior (Dark Greem Met.) or gloss black. Should the paint be misted or full color with clear coat?

Thanks,
RED

If I'm not mistaken it depends where the car was built. Some were black, some red oxide, and some were painted body color. I know some one will point you in the right direction.

My 65 SS original underside is a combination of colors. I see red primer, misted flat black (undercoating??) and body color (white) overspray everywhere. If that helps???
Same here.
Wanted to do it bodycolor, but then it would be a show only car. :noway:
So, its gloss POR-15
