HAVE A 1969 CHEVELLE WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISION. CLEANED BOTH POS AND NEG BATT WIRES TO STARTER AND ENGINE GROUND. I TURN ON KEY TO START VEHICLE AND I HEAR THE STARTER BENDEX ENGAGE, BUT IT DOES NOT TURN OVER THE MOTOR? ANYONE OUT THERE SEEN THIS PROBLEM.

I would say it's low voltage or a bad starter
got volt meter?

Probably a dumb question, but is the starter tight?

I had one loosen up and it would bind up and not turn over. Striaghten it and tightened it up, and it worked fine.
