I just installed new floor braces in my 66. As I was putting the body back on the frame I noticed the body mount bolts won't go into the new front floor brace. It should be the same size thread as the rest of the body mounts, correct? I'm thinking they tapped it for a metric bolt, but I haven't checked yet.

Has anyone run into this problem? If it's indeed metric, would you just find the appropriate metric bolt and call it done?

I only had to replace the rear most floor brace on my '65 and the replacement 7/16-14 bolts fit fine. Are you sure that they are going in straight?

Most definitely going in straight. I get about a 1/4 turn and the bolt stops. I've got to get under there with some different sized bolts and see if any will fit. I replaced the rear brace as well and the bolts fit fine.
