The MSD instructions want the connection at the battery but I do like your other idea about the threaded stud. If I can't find a connector that can clear it I will have to go with the threaded stud.

You could also use a threaded stud in place of the terminal bolt and use two nuts. One nut to hold the cable and the other on top of the first to hold the MSD wire.
I might try to tie into the wires that branch off the main battery cables and see how that works. Yes, after I get it fired up and make sure there's no bugs I'm going to run a kill switch. As far as the gloves are concerned...don't knock it till you try it, cleanup is a snap and it's easier to get some lovin from the wife with nice clean hands :thumbsup: .You don't need it directly to the battery post, you can run it to the battery terminal at your fuse box. I've had mine there for 15 years now. Are you going to run a kill switch for it as well?? It is recommended.
