I am just about ready to fire the motor for the first time. Due to cam break-in, I don't want it to crank for a long time, but fire right off...
I have a mechanical pump, and replaced my entire fuel system, including the tank, so there is no fuel anywhere.

I have Edelbrock carbs and was wondering how you prime the carbs? Do I just pour fuel in the vent tubes (are they there?), or do I take the top off the carb and fill up the bowls that way?

Thanks,
Tony

I'd use a "turkey baster" and prime it through the vent tubes. A half cup or so will be plenty. Check that the acc pump sprays into the carb.... Then get ALL gasoline COMPLETELY away from the car before you start it.
