I put a little more money into mechanicals than i thought(sound familiar?)so it looks like i am going to have to wait a while to paint. Can i prime and seal as is and still use as a driver for approx 1yr? I am going to install the windshield and rear window so i can drive the car, so i assume i will have to remove them before painting. I haven't done any research yet , but do they make a buff colored primer? i will be painting the car some shade of red, not really sure of color yet. Any info is better than what i have now. thanks

You can cover it in epoxy. You'll have to sand it before you paint it, because you'll be way out of the recoat window. Make sure its epoxy, anything else can absorb water. You can also have some epoxies tinted I believe.

A primer's function is:

>Adhere to metal
>Absorb - anything it's exposed to (acid rain, tree sap, oils, dirt, silicone)

Epoxy is different and recommended. It will provide a stable and durable coating until you're ready for further paint work.
