[Future 69 Malibu owner?]

This car is very close to me and I'm waiting for a response on what he wants for it. Check it out and let me know what you think. I have no idea if it's a SS or not, but don't really care. If it's as clean and nice as it appears and in my price range, I'm there!

If you had to guess, what do you think a car like this will go for? I'm hoping the non-matching numbers and no SS proof will keep the cost down.

Looks like a nice car. To be honest Ii doubt it hits the reserve. While the car is nice, he is new to Ebay and has no feedback and that should be enough to keep the car price down. No guarantee that will happen but it does usually from what I have watched. Most folks I don't think will throw that much $$ out there on an auction like that unless they know the car. He told me through email what the reserve is. He also has the car for sale locally, and says he'll end the auction if the car is sold outside Ebay.

Sure looks good..do you know the vin #? If she was born with a 454 the vin will tell you and if she was a 454 from day one then she is truly an SS. there are some real pros on this site that can tell you more.(Better change your name to "future 71 chevelle owner" )

He declined 20k cash. Said he would contact me if it doesn't sell on Ebay. Oh well, it was worth a shot.

Looked at the car today. Very nice, but not perfect. Would you guys expect a near perfect car for 20k? Keep in mind there is no proof it's a real SS and not original drivetrain.


The quarters have a very, very slight ripple to them at a certain angle. They're all metal and it might be caused from the paint application or something, not sure. The mirror reflection in the paint is perfectly straight, hard to explain what I'm trying to say. It wouldn't show up in a picture. Am I being too picky about this?

Seems look good although I'm not sure if they are correct. Asked about it in chevelle tech.

The motor isn't perfectly clean. Paint had peeled up on intake and they just touched up over the peeled paint. Didn't even bother scraping loose stuff off. Needs a few things replaced to be show condition.

Everything else is real nice, besides a few little detail items. Is this stuff expected on a 20k 71? I was under the impression that 20k was top dollar for this year, unless it was matching SS?
