Neat old truck. Those things were workhorses. The full time 4X4 is great if your transfer has been rebuilt sometime in the past. Those NP 203 chain drives were notorious for the chain slipping. If it has been rebuilt, then its a different story. I assume the 400 SB came with the truck seeing how it is not in the truck? In its current condition and a 400 SB included, I would say $750 to 1K.

the motor didnt come with it. I think i might be better parting it out. I just hate to do that. I bet it was a good looking truck when it was new

I have never seen that new of a Chevy Fleetside with a wood bed floor.
1977 was the last year for the wood bed floor. I had one. I bought it from the original owner back then and he told me when he found out they were no longer going to offer it for `78, he ordered the new `77.

John, I'm on 73-87 but it doesn't seem to get much traffic.
Joe, I thought it was pretty cool. I've never seen one with bucket seats either. The odometer shows 20k miles it was last plated in 80 and the title is still in the original owners name. The story is, the original block cracked due to too much cold cranking in winter.

Casey, I bought an 80 GMC Indy Hauler about three years ago, a complete running truck, but has some hacker work done to it and I am in the process of redoing all that work that is messed up. Good luck with whatever you decide. If I wasn't already knee deep in this truck, I'd be interested.

If I had the room it would be stored and then in spring it would get a 6bt cummins with a 5 speed and it would be my daily driver. I've just got way too much stuff. My moms getting a little annoyed (oops)

To put a value on it how complete is the truck? Is the rest of the drive line there except the engine? Do you have the hood and tailgate?

Looks to be a pretty nice truck in decent shape, but probably isn't worth a whole lot. I had a 79 chevy k20 camper special 4x4(basically the same truck) that was rust free that ran and drove and I couldn't even get 2k for it.

That was a very well optioned truck for a 76 model. It would be a cool one to put back on the road. I would love to have the buckets/console int. I recently bought a 1978 2wd K5 blazer that is pretty well optioned and I wanted a few parts or a parts vehicle. I found a 78 dually and got the grill and a few other parts and then the guy cut me a good deal on it, and since it had a nice running 454/400, I bought it. A few days ago, I found a really decent 78 3/4 ton 2wd 350 4 spd. for sale. 3/4 tons are usually strippers but this one is a decked out Silverado and has factory tach and gauges, A/C, tilt wheel, power windows, big mirrors, aux. fuel tank, chrome grill, and locking rear diff. The original motor is still in the truck and it even still has the snorkel/air intake tube going from the core support to the air cleaner(always missing) This was going to be a parts vehicle for my K5 but the more I look at it, the more I want to keep it together and get it back on the road. I am not sure what the deal is with 78 models but that is what I keep finding.

Wish you were closer. I have a mint 80 hood I took off my tow truck when I put a cowl on it.

Don't care, that truck dereves a resto just for the cool factor. I have had a ton of camper specials and most could pull a house off its foundation.

I put the hood on it, it does have a tailgate. All it needs is the motor and front drive shaft I believe. That's all I noticed anyways
