Powerglide Transmission Questions

My wide open throttle shift point is 55 mph and the owner's manual states it should be 65 mph.
Should I have the throttle valve adjusted or leave it alone?

Is it difficult to adjust the low band? Should it be done by a dealer or at a transmission shop?
My mechanic says it can be difficult to adjust due to space limitations.

I have reviewed the procedures in the overhaul manual 7-61and 62.

Thanks, Jim

It was rebuilt in the mid 90s about 30,000 miles ago.
Fluid and filter were changed and new seals and gaskets were installed last month.
Following the fluid change the clutch packs were slow to engage and Lucas solved that issue.
I have an update.
I checked the Owner's Manual again.
There is a low speed kickdown below 35 mph and you depress the accelerator pedal about half way to the floor to activate it. It works fine except the transmission up shifts at 55 mph instead of 65 mph.
The high speed kickdown where you depress the accelerator pedal to the floor when the speed is above 35 mph does not work.
It is standard fluid with Lucas so it is thicker.

It has original sized tires, but they are radials.

I checked the shop manual and 55 mph is the correct upshift speed for low speed kickdown.
