Folks, I have been trying to hunt down this weeping from my pump.

Is it a normal place to leak from from the line that screws on...not the actual line and that line nut but the much larger nut that looks to be apart of the pump housing.


If I replace the pump is there any one that is better than the others stock looking?

You need to tighten the black painted nut to the back of the pump, as well as the hose fitting flare nut. (LUCAS Power Steering fluid guarantees to solve your power steering leak or your money back...but it's $25 a quart, so save your receipt...)

Its hard to tell from that picture, but it looks like its coming from the bolt to pump area above the fitting.

tighten the bolts and the big pressure fitting- they all seal with o rings...

There are several areas on the back of the power steering pump where you could leak hydraulic fluid. Here is a pic

If it is the big discharge fitting, there are two o-rings on that fitting that could need to be replaced. If it is the studs on the back of the reservoir, you will have to remove the pump from the car and then remove the reservoir to access them.
