How do you get the nut off the pulley? Can't keep the pulley from turning as I try to unscrew the nut.

If I remember right my 68 has flat spots that you put a open end wrench on

You probably need to use an impact on it.

I used an impact gun when I took mine apart. However, as stated, there should be a provision for an open end wrench on the pump shaft somewhere.

There SHOULD be a hex-hole in the end of the shaft for an Allen wrench. :thumbsup:

Is it easier to take off the pulley while the pump is still on the car or can take the impact gun to it if you already have the pump out of the car?

If the pump is out of the car, just put the impact on it, grab hold of the pulley and pull the trigger. It will come right off. Make sure you have gloves on too.
