Check with your local home air conditioning wholesaler. They sell a sleeve that is pretty close.

Someone please educate me--what protective sleeve for the lower power steering hose? What does it look like? I'm replacing my power steering hoses and my old ones don't have a protective sleeve/wrap and I the engine compartment pictures in the restoration guides don't show the power steering hoses. The service assembly manual drawing seems to show a sleeve but doesn't describe it. Thanks a lot!

The type shown in the picture is what comes on the replacement hose from GU or others. The original is the foam rubber type.

I think I have some of that insul-tube out in my old service van,

You can by 6' lengths of it at any HVAC supply house, just need to know the I.D. size and wall thickness.

I have three different rolls of bailing wire, what gauge is needed for those hoses? Do I twist and clip or just bend and hide?

If you're referring to the retainer clip, they are formed from spring steel and phosphated. There is usually 2 per car and they snap in place to hold the hoses together.

Respectfully, I think we are just trying to keep some detail items/things sacred from OTHER folks who now frequent these sites looking for ways to otherwise try and pass off a fake as real.
