Hey folks, Not sure if this the place to post but here goes. I was testing my power seat track out (out of the vehicle). Noticed the rubber belt that connects motor to drive pullies was wobbling. Me with my high inteligence thought I could tighten it a little. Well,No. It snapped in half.Who can I buy one from?. If i install the seat right now i will have to hug the steering wheel like i hadnt seen that steering wheel in years. Thanks for the help.

Call OPG first on that one, as they have an interest in all a-bodies, & most a-body power seats were not in Chevelles.

My next call, if #1 was not the ticket, would be IMPALA BOB, in Mesa, AZ. Lots more power seats in the big deluxe Chevy.

Then, CLASSIC INDUSTRIES in HB, CA.

(I'd bet the belt itself is the same on all GM power seats of that era.)

Never never never would I ever ever ever suggest you call DESERT KINGS. :noway:

Try a vacuum cleaner repair place. Years ago I was told that you could find the belts there (bring your old on with you).

I used to deal with a guy out of Michigan (Cadillac Michigan?), Bill Merrick. He used to rebuild these things... Maybe see if you can find him.

Bill Merrick...many have used him..

Tony, your vacuum repair shop worked. I walked in asked the man (he thought I was nuts). I gave him my broken belt, he came back from the back and said "thats a first' And handed me a belt that was about the right size. Took it home, installed and it worked prfectly. It was slightly thicker and slightly smaller in diameter but worked perfectly. It actually works better then when the old one was on it. Thanks for the direction guys.
