I have a problem with the power(voltage) droping when a load is put on to the motor. This effects the radio (AM/FM CD), lights, wiper. Radio stops, lights dim, wipers run slower. I have put a volt meter on the power lead to the radio and when this happens (Driving) the voltage drops from 12v or 13v to 8v. The regulator has been replaced. I have checked all of the grounds (that I can find). Could this be a alternator going out.

Thanks,

I had the alternator tested and it works fine. I also found out that it is for a 1973. I was told that it has a regulaator built in. Could this cause the problem with the voltage drop if it is not wired in correctly?

Thanks,
Dave
