You guys are too funny.
Nate

But really now, isn't this the correct set for a 1962 Ram air-VII 348 RS/SS Chevelle prototype. Oh darn, the auction has ended.

You guys have no clue! These are the desirable point set for the vacuum tube electronic ignition that was on the copo cars back then. HEI meant then Highvacuum Electronic Ignition.

Ohhhhhh.........Yeah !
Now it makes sense.

I guess I just haven't had my HEI apart far enough to find the points that are mounted down in there. Amazing how many miles I've got on them and I've never had to adjust them or replace them. Lucky me.

whew !!!
Probably should have just bought them to have a spare !
More on the ignorance of some people......a friend of mine was telling me about being at the local car show this weekend, and looking at this guys really nice 1969 Convertible Camaro. Another fellow came up to the car and asked the owner, "Is that a smog pump on that thing". (It had one). And the owner said, "I'm not sure".
My friend was about to begin to discuss the engine with him, but decided to walk away. The guy didn't even get out of his chair to see what the guy was pointing at. CUZ HE WOULDN'T HAVE KNOWN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ALTERNATOR AND A SMOG PUMP ANYWAY !!!

I guess he just knew how to put the key in and turn it !!!
