As the title says, Im kind of worried about my recent build. This weekend I decided to check the plugs on my car. The engine has been through its initial break-in. But has no more than 15miles on the street havent been able to drive, due to a bad transmission. The plugs are completely charcoal/powdery black. I have a Holey "blue" electric pump with regulator. The gage jump around too much and cant get steady read on pressure. Could it be running rich or is this a more serious problem. In other words, what other things could be causing this?

cc8,
The only way to get a good reading on plugs is to make a good long wot pass and then cut off the engine clean. If all you have been doing is putting around and a lot of idleing, the plugs wont tell you much.
