What is the acceptable piston to valve clearance with 425 horse cast iron heads and trw forged pistons on a 396 big block ? Has any one had a bad experence with a comp cam ? I have herd they may be wearing lobes off and breaking from some people? I am wanting to buy a cam they have the type i want , but i am worried about what brand to buy ? Thanks for any help! :)

Generally speaking, the minimum piston to valve clearance suggestion is .100" for the exhaust and .080" for the intake. Comp cams are a quality product, you will not have problems as long as the cam is installed correctly. In my opinion, 99% of camshaft failures are caused by incorrect installation and break-in.
