I have an uncle in Minn. who knows the guy that had the old street rod.... that won several times. *Loved it when the kid with the Pontiac cried... anyhow he said that they DO not take the car.

The dorky host is from small town Iowa pretty close to here {Waterloo} from my understanding. The first race they had was at our local track, CF raceway. I have 2 Problems with the show. First is the host trying to act like hes a hardass....come on man no one needs to see somone acting like a hardass. And second i HATE WITH A PASSION how they cut to commercial right after the launch. They should cut to commercial after the burnout or stage but NOT THE DAMNED LAUNCH.

The problem I have with the show is that they are at a racetrack but don't use the starting tree or the timing/finish lights. They are always arguing that someone jumped the start or who finished first. If they used the tree they would know who redlights and who wins down to .0001 of a second. I am sure they could rig up a staging beam setup to work with thier crazy car length head starts.

I totally agree with Bob. I don't think this is real but I still like watching it anyway!

There's a guy local here that ran his mustang against a camaro at Atco,in october(I think),the show will air for the next season starting in feb.
Anyway,he won the races, and from what I heard, the guy was able to buy his camaro back for $4k.

:) That is where Tivo is cool. I have that show down to a science and can watch it all in about 10 minutes. I fast forward right after the launch and the commercials and bring it back to the launch again when the commercial is over.

It's supposed to be like street racing where there is no tree. Thats the entire purpose of the show. At least thats my take on it. And by the way, I like the show, if they are racing some cool cars.

I had an idea for an even better twist on it. A no holds barred high stakes National Competition. If the loss of the car was real - who in their right mind would want to loose their big $$$ car. Instead, the format I envisioned was a round robin series of eliminations playing against an entry fee prize pool. No rules except the car had to have working lights (and of course safety eqiupment). Owners anti up a sizeable fee - say $5000.00 - alot of $$$, yes, but still a heck of a lot less than the cost of a car. Best of three - same format - negotiated lead times, except use the timing system. Winner moves on. Final winner takes 50% of the prize pool. Get 100 cars to enter at 5k each, winner gets $250K. Balance of the $$$ goes for track rentals and expenses. Get 200 guys to enter, the prize pool goes to $500k. All about the numbers. Get 400 guys to enter - prize pool goes to a cool $1 mil.

Set some real $$$ out there and get some real talent to show up.

Pinks season one had alot of issues with car's not changing hands. I called the shows producer and voiced my opion. To my suprise he called me back right away. I have since had sevaral talks with Rich the host.

They only have 30 minutes of airtime. That doesn't leave much negotiating time when your car is on the line. So he steps in to speed the process up.
You have to sign your car over to the network before being on the show.Season 2 will be much better. Cars are more evenly matched all races will be 1/4 mile.

When the show airs it's West Coast episodes I'll be on T.V.:beers:
