Just installed the 2" (actually, 1 3/4") Glasstek cowl hood on my '64. Overall I'm very happy with the quality and fit. A couple of things to mention:

1) I had to trim almost 2" off the cowl overhang to clear the wipers, and piece in the center "bump" to make it look right. This is the second Glasstek hood (I also owned a '63 Nova) in which I had to do this. Why the @#$% do they make these SOOO long?
2) Only took about 2 rounds with the block sander to get it pretty darned straight.
3) Perimeter fit is very good.

The hood is a nice subtle touch. You'd have to look twice or you might not notice it.

Looks great, Tim! Beautiful car, too! I really like the color matched wheels without the trim rings. Gives it a real sleeper attitude.
Took the words right out of my mouth! Judging by the Hoosiers, probably got an 11 second small block under that new hood.

for a race car thats where the air for the carb comes from and it gets sucked in from a little opening from the hood to the windshield, or the cowl induction like the older chevells and some mopars.

on a street car where the grill is opened you dont need the air from the windshiels do you can cut and make room for the wiper arms.

this is why glasstek makes parts mostly for race cars because it is lighter than steel. and sometimes they cost a little more. ive been at the place and itis amazing how they make the parts with all the dust and fumes that is flying around. great people that work there also.
