My 72 did not have anything behind the rear seat other than the emtal structure. Is there supposed to be a fiberborad panel between the seat and metal? Does anyone have pics?

My interior had been out at one point before I got it, so maybe it was discarded, but since i'm back there I figure I might as well make one or sound insulate it while I'm there.

Yes, there is a larger cardboard seperator between the back seat and metal trunk bracing area.

I know I'm going to cause controversy, as this always causes a debate, but based on my one-owner '70, this is how the factory did it.

First went in the "trunk divider board" (the cardboard thing I speak of). That is why one face of it is colored black so when you look in the trunk, it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb thru the braces of the trunk metal.

Then when in the large rectangular strip of jute padding for sound insulation and keep isolation between the inside of the trunk and the innards of the rear seat back.

Then last when in the rear seat back.

I can provide pictures, if you are patient, not tonite though...
