What does everyone use when painting all of the bolts and nuts? Im doing all of my suspension, steering, brakes and rear axle assembly. Im not looking for cheap, but I dont want them rusting. All of them have been de-greased and blasted. And im not too concerned about originality.

no matter what you paint them with, half of it will come off when you torque them down.
maybe order a cad plating kit from Eastwood and do it that way.

Punch some holes in a cardboard box, stick them in the holes, and the nuts and washers you can put on a piece of threaded rod, will keep them from sliding into each other.

Rattle can them and put them in a toaster oven for about 25 minutes, find one at goodwill or some place like that sells used ones for about $5.

It will harden them up and they will look good, also other small parts that will fit in a toaster oven.

Dave,
I have been painting them with MarHyde satin black trim paint. Self Etching primer first. The MarHyde stuff is pretty bulletproof. I painted my outside lamp post with it almost ten years ago and it still looks as good as it did right after I painted it !

After you get done painting them, put some plastic, like from a zip lock baggie, between the bolt head and the socket, this will help a lot from the chipping of the paint. Also, to save the paint underneath the bolts shoulder, put some white lithium grease or such on it, just a touch will do.
