Used the spray cans on the first rim looks bad...................2 things, the cans seem to kick out a little "dust" if you will so I cleaned them out between coats, the final coats you can still see its blotchy. I sanded with 2 different grits and used degreaser cleaner and then dawn, then tsp prep. Is it the spray can pain? It seems they need a thicker formula? Any help guys??

Hmmm.... I don't know much about paint, to be honest, but a blotchy finish would seem like there's some kind of contamination on the surface. It sounds like you prepped it really well though. Maybe it's a bad batch of paint. Try a different brand. Also, with the tiny spray tips, it's easy for the paint to build up and alter the spray pattern.

Just for the hell of it I took my completely sanded Rally wheels to the local auto body shop to see how many millions it would cost to paint them the factory Argent Silver. He eyed them over and said $100 cash. I left them and went back the next day at closing time 6:00 and as soon as I pulled up I saw them sitting by the spray booth. They looked so nice!! He painted them the night before and they sat in the booth all night to dry.
I took my car down after it was finished and he took photos of it for his board..

$75 per rim???? That's getting close to powder coating pricing.
