was wondering i have to original coils i think they have 293 on them, is there anyway of checking these to see if their any good or not?????

If you take a car battery.
Tie the battery (+) to coil plus (+).
Connect battery (-) to a large piece of metal away from the battery. Batteries outgas and don't mix with sparks too well.
Install a spark plug wire in the coil center and put it near the large metal ground plate.
Now if you touch a wire from coil (-) to battery (-) for a second, then remove it, then touch it again, you simulate points opening and closing. As "points" open and close, a spark jumps to the metal plate.

You mean you can't use a HP 32 trace logic analyzer on it Herb?
