I'm currently blocking my 70ChevSSConvBB and getting ready for Paint. The original color is Cranberry Red w/White stripes but honestly, there are too many Red cars (no offense). As such, I've been looking at different colors and have considered green, slate blue and am very serious about orange w/white or black or gray/silver stripes....

I'm shooting samples of HOK's Tangelo, Nova, Sunset, Sunrise and Bittersweet Orange Metallics and am trying to find the "right" orange that I can live with..... Key words LIVE WITH ;)

Does anyone have opinions or real experience with any of these colors????

I'm sure I'll get my fill of different colors this week in Nashville but would like to know what ya'll think....

THANKS!!! -Duff.......................

Mine is a factory color that looks very similar to Tangelo orange ,but has more of a golden hue in the sun. Look at the link below

I think it's the "hottest" orange Chevelle I've ever seen!

There were half a dozen or so 68-72 Chevelles on ebay recently that were painted a modern metallic orange. I think it looks good. Atomic Orange or Brazen Orange with white stripes

first off, dont pick a color from a pic-you have to see it live-are you wanting a met orange, or solid-i used a ppg color, from their hot licks chart, its called poppy
i first picked the color brite, but when i shot it, way to much yellow, so after wasting $350 of paint, i picked a smaller sample of the poppy-i liked it, a little more richer orange
now a 3 stage paint, you can really get some cool stuff

Call me a party pooper, but i think in the long run you will regret color change. The reason you see so many red ones out there is because it is one of the most popular colors. You have been blessed with a factory red car, once you change that you will narrow your market down the road. That being said, if you still desire to go orange i would definitely paint the stripes white. My three cents.:)
